Tip the toy backward to allow the child to hold the red ball handle.
Point to the different colors on the toy as you say the color names aloud. Guide the child's finger to touch the colors along with you.
NEW WALKERS: While the child is standing, help position his or her hands on the red ball. Encourage the child to push the toy forward to make it pop.
Place a bright pillow or plush toy across the room and encourage the child to push the walker across the floor to touch it.
Encourage the child to try different ways of moving the toy, such as pulling it along behind as he or she walks across the floor.
